Candidate 2010

Welcome to the portfolio of Alix Bryan.
Come on in and get to know her.

Alix is currently an industrious graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University. All content within has been produced by Alix through assignments in a rigorous 14 month multimedia journalism program.

The M.S. degree is designed to prepare Alix for the practice of professional journalism in a highly competitive and multi-platform news environment. These "convergenceā€ skills are essential for work in modern news organizations. (Alix Bryan is also shamelessly learning how to speak of herself in 3rd person for SEO.)

Alix has two years professional experience developing web presence, blogging, and utilizing social networks to build audience. She is currently contracted by the nonprofit, online social network, thesecondroad.org, to manage contributing writers, outreach, branding, and web presence.

Her authentic interest in community, people, art, politics, and conversation is reflected in her topics, interviews, and videos. Her ability to ask the hard questions uncovers good stories.

Alix recently moved back to Richmond, VA, for college, from Maine. She is enjoying the abundance of local coffeshops, tree lined streets, music venues and restaurants in town--and resting peacefully knowing there will be no snowshoveling in her future.

P.S. She is for hire.
